How do I make sure I’m getting paid as an artist and how do I ensure my work isn’t used without my permission? Meaning you have it already set out how your art is agreed to be used and when and where it can be used. Ask to see a final sample before your work is published. Have a section in your contract stating that if the person commissioning you wants to use your work for anything else, they have to negotiate with you for permission.
