6 Tips for Letting Go of What Doesn’t Serve You Any More in Making Art
Listen now
Description
Today, Ping, Sarah, and Dorien will be giving you six super useful tips on how you can let go of the things that don’t serve you or your art anymore. By getting rid of the things that don’t work for you anymore, you have room to bring in something new that might help you grow as an artist and as a person.   KEY TAKEAWAYS The first thing you need to do is acknowledge that there are things that don’t serve you anymore and keep you from doing the things that will serve you. You can only let go of something when you know it’s there and it doesn’t belong anymore. Try something completely new. Experimenting can help you find something new that might work better than what you have been doing before. Even something as simple as changing the size or type of paper you use is worth experimenting with. Have support from people around you and also from yourself. The more people who understand your journey, the better conversations and advice you can get. First, you should be taking care of yourself then you can help and be helped by others. Step back now and then and reflect on what art you have been making. This allows you to see what you like and don’t like about the work you’ve been doing. Go back to your goals and hidden themes and see if you’re on track to hit them. Not everything you do should go towards your goal, but your goal can keep you focused on what you want. Focus on the things you enjoy and want to develop. If you do the things you enjoy then you’re going in the right direction by default.     BEST MOMENTS   ‘Not everything you do all day has to be going in the right direction, there is room for experimentation’ ‘Sometimes we can only notice things when we’re distanced from them’ ‘The thing that stopped me most was the fear of being judged’ ‘Hello thoughts, thank you and goodbye’   ABOUT THE PODCAST   This a serious and fun podcast for female creatives hosted by Ping, Dorien and Sarah, three happy artists from Amsterdam.  This podcast will inspire you to make a living out of your art.
