“Hey J and Ben! Wanted to say I love the pod! It’s been such a joy to keep having it grace my podcast app every week for thrnoast few months, and I so wish I could have made it to the live shows. My theory, what if the diary was enchanted BEFORE it was made into a Horcrux to open the chamber of secrets. They say it’s a memory, so what if Voldemort put some kind of memory into the diary when he was at school with some kind of magic that we don't know about, then, when he was deciding what to turn into a Horcrux he chose the diary because it was ALREADY the way that he planned to re-open the chamber of secrets, so it would already be getting emotionally close to a student and would give it the best chance of finding a host for him to return with? We know he gave it to Malfoy, and we assume he was angry when Lucious used the diary without his permission, but maybe that was his plan all along, to use the diary as his best chance of having a Horcrux in the world?
