“These podcasts are great until they talk about the club you support, which is when you realize they actually don’t have much more insight than your average Sky Sports pundit.
Despite how intelligent and well-informed these guys may seem, they often don’t actually know who’s been playing for a club, where they’ve been playing, or how the tactics have been set up. Lazy mistakes and tired stereotypes abound, all wrapped in fancy-sounding language that will certainly fool you if you aren’t paying attention.
It’s obviously fine for pundits to not know every single detail about a topic. But it’s not so fine when those pundits try to come across as experts. There’s an air of arrogance around these types, which I think that’s part of the brand. I’m starting to see through it.
I’d stick to the silly content, as the actual football analysis is severely lacking and exceptionally dry.”
