“If you're looking for an all-Mandarin podcast to help improve listening skills, I really recommend this one! Every story told is explained and discussed by the hostess using only Chinese. While this may sound intimidating, I found this actually the most useful aspect of the entire podcast, because this way of learning feels more natural to me than by learning through translations. The host takes time to make the content of a story as clear as possible, even to lower intermediate Mandarin learners, e.g. by speaking slowly and clearly and by using synonyms, descriptions and repetition to teach new words and phrases. Even though my listening skills are sub-par, I found I could understand more of the podcast's content than I expected and I'm learning new things with every episode.
Also, I'm happy that the podcast offers content at various levels. At the moment, I'm only listening to the lower-level episodes, but I'm looking forward to moving to the next level once I feel my listening skill has improved enough :) Thanks so much for working on this podcast!!”Read full review »
