Thought provoking on the ethics of journalism
This podcast covers a fascinating true crime case and investigation of not only a missing woman, but also mental health. The interviews with the survivors enlighten the listener on all aspects of the incident, including the full spectrum of human emotion that evolved from it such as love, friendship, grief, loss, and codependency. It was very thought provoking in the sense that it had me questioning journalistic and investigative measures, how the media influences the public’s perception of a crime, and how information uncovered in investigative podcasts such as this can help or hinder a case and the healing of the people impacted. At times the hunger and eagerness of the host left me feeling a little cringe-y, also how biased the voice of the podcast began. However, this is acknowledged further in the episodes. It felt very intrusive at times but definitely had me thinking about technology’s roles in solving crimes.

Honest, real, suspenseful. It’s like being in the middle of the investigation - and that’s exactly where we are.
