Fantastic effort on a heartbreaking case
It has been both heartbreaking and inspiring to listen to this podcast. Heartbreaking to hear and listen to the brothers and their journey for answers after such a loss of their mother. Inspiring to hear their strength, love and determination to find justice for her. Rachel, your grit and determination to help the brothers uncover the truth behind their mother’s murder is amazing and the amount of effort, time and investigative ingenuity is an absolute credit to you as both a person and as a journalist. The exposed incompetence of Vic police is disappointing and the apparent obstruction when Rachel and Ron have tried to help support investigations raises far more questions than they have answered and sows seeds of suspicion as to why they behaving in such a way. What are they trying to cover up?? I also do not tar all police with the same brush, particularly Ron who clearly still felt invested after all this time. He obviously cares about Maria James and her children and has done his upmost to contribute where he can. I can only hope the the loose ends that have not yet been tied up, bear some answers for Mark, Adam, Rachel and Ron.

A tragic story told with sensitivity and deep respect towards the James family. Whenever I despair about the future of journalism, I'll think of all the hard work Rachel Brown has put into this podcast.Read full review »
