“When the hosts are focused on the games itself, the show is amazing.
When Maddie and Jason go on highly political/social justice far left opinionated rants that have nothing to go with gaming, it gets hard to listen to.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy hearing viewpoints from a perspective other than my own, but their personalities can get pretty grating.
As you can see from the other reviews, Jason is the weakest link and has a big fat ego. Show would be better without him
Kirk on the other hand is one of the most interesting voices gaming. He is very knowledgeable on a broad range of genres and always knows how to perfectly articulate his thoughts.
Also appreciate Maddie being a permanent host. There are too many gaming podcasts that have “guest” female hosts which I think is very jarring. I like knowing that there is going to be someone of a different gender and vocal tones speaking every week.
One other thing I think the show needs is more relevant discussion of current events, ie a news and game reviews segment.
Overall room to grow. The grips I have about the show are never going to change, you either learn to deal with the cringeworthy rants or move onto to different podcasts like minmax”
