I love your podcast as much as seeing you report on CrimeTV. My family has a podcast Hearth, Home and Homicide and we are learning so much through your professionalism and compassion. Keep telling the stories of the victims and the impact of crime. Thank you, Bridget

Through his career in journalism, and clearly ability to connect and empathize with people impacted by violent crimes, we get to hear 1:1 raw conversations that we can’t find elsewhere. For anyone who has find ourselves apart of a new story, it’s clear that the reported on situation is quickly...Read full review »

This show has a slick production, but don’t be fooled. Listened to a few episodes on cases that I know well and they are riddle with inaccuracies and wild speculation on things that have been all but ruled out by those who have worked on and researched these cases.

I’m sure it’s difficult to strike the right balance between your professionalism as a reporter, & being completely relatable to both your audience, & the crime victims, relatives of crime victims/the missing, etc you are interviewing. Matt Johnson does a great job of making that look...Read full review »

Like the way you give the family who has little money, knowledge or platform a voice. My heart aches for Jen’s Mother and family. I try to image myself in her shoes with English as a second language and not know what to do. Hope someone can help them. (P.S. I thought she spoke English quite...Read full review »

I am enthralled and deeply touch by this podcast. The humanity, care and concern for survivors is sincere as Matt gives a platform for those suffering such terrible trauma to speak. An important pivot for the very necessary attention that needs to be given to these cases. Matt you are one of a...Read full review »

Matt has a fantastic delivery and checks all my boxes when it comes to true crime. Mr. Mystery indeed! He is charming like a good buddy, that’s why folks open up to him. Great independent podcast!

I really like listening to this podcast. As a fellow animal lover I was very sad to hear of you losing your beloved bulldog. Matt please keep up the good work.

Hello. I heard about your podcast from listening to Charlie of Crimelines. Binge-listening now at work! You have an awesome podcast. And the way you narrate and navigate the story is very nice. Great voice for a podcast or even just reading a phonebook (if I can find one) ☺️. Maria B.

I love this podcast because Matt Johnson’s ability to tell the story and great conversations he had with victim’s friends and family. BUT my favorite part about this podcast is that his voice is so soothing to me. Probably because he’s reporter, really love listening to his voice!!

Would’ve given this podcast 5 stars except for the fact that the host copies, verbatim, the ending to My Favorite Murder. Especially since Elvis, Georgia’s cat, died it is in such horrible taste. Not sure if you claim to be a journalist or not but it’s unscrupulous.

The first time I listened to this podcast I switched off immediately due to the tacky announcer. Many months later, having nothing else to listen to, I had another attempt. Over-dramatic announcer, Mr. Gatsby, and droll delivery peppered with opinionated comments. Found the podcast has potential but it sounds like it was produced for a daytime talk show.

I like the content of this show, but the closing “Mr. Gatsby want a cookie? Good boy!” makes me cringe SO HARD at the end of every episode. It’s ripped straight off of My Favorite Murder’s episode ender of “Elvis want a cookie? Good boy!” (A true crime pod that has been around way longer and is...Read full review »

Very interesting and perplexing case—but I am struck by the lack of discussion about the bizarre behavior Mitrice exhibited before her arrest. Where and with whom had she been prior to going to a “swanky Malibu “restaurant——by herself?
