Pace of storytelling extremely slow, emotionless and boring. Sounds like it’s been read of a script. Unfortunate, since I think it could be interesting true crime stories

I look forward to this weekly podcast for its well researched content and insightful story telling. Often a cautionary tale told but never with judgement. Thank you for telling these stories with compassion for the victims, and for reminding us of the injustice done to them and their loved ones.

Thank you for having a heart for the victims and their families. I truly look forward to your podcast each week - not because of the horror that these families must endure, but because you show real empathy for the victims and their families, but you still ensure that the offender is held...Read full review »

I’ve only just come across this podcast in the last couple of weeks. I’m so interested in South Africa as a country and its history as well as being a big true crime fan so this podcast is perfect combination of both. Stay safe.

I’ve been following this podcast for a while now and I listen to it every morning just before work. I love the effort Nicole has taken into the narration, research and detailed analysis of each and every case. This is by far, the best crime podcast for me 🤞🏽. Keep up the stellar work ✨.

I’m partial to true crime podcasts with non-American hosts, especially when they’re telling stories from their home countries. Love the unfamiliar cases, police procedures, cultures. This one is absolutely top notch. Host Nicole is thoughtful and compassionate without ever getting maudlin or...Read full review »

I think the stories are a great tribute to the victims especially giving you an idea of what they may have experienced as human beings. Of course we don’t know exactly what the victims felt or thought, but it’s important to remember the victims. I also learn a lot about the way our detectives...Read full review »

My brother in law and his family lived in South Africa until recently and I’m always on the lookout for SA related content. I’m also big on true crime so this scratches the itch. I appreciate the context given regarding political and social climate of 🇿🇦at various points of time

really great pod, but it would be a cherry on top if you could work on the Xhosa pronunciation especially as a South African. this is mainly in reference to episode 131. x

I love this podcast. The presenter has such a gorgeous voice and relaxed tone, perfect for the subject. Every case is like a tribute to the victims, giving them respect and dignity. It is great work. I listen from Wales (Cymru) and I don’t know many of the places but it is still fascinating!

This podcast brings South African true crime to the ears of the world. Here in the United States, we don’t hear the sorties that take place in far away places, and the result of this is the mistaken impression that only what happens here matters. I think it’s so important to see each other as...Read full review »

Interested to know why you presume to know what the victims last or any moments was like before or during the assault? You don’t know what Palesa Madiba thought or felt. It’s odd.

Nicole is well researched and covers the information with a victim focus. Along with Real Crime profile and Crime Analyst - only three I religiously listen to.

What a great podcast! We listened to it as a group on a road trip to the bush and we were all hooked. I am a huge fan of Forensic Psychology and Criminal Law, so I’m very intrigued by the subject matter. I appreciate it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, however. Nicole is an excellent storyteller,...Read full review »

Love the podcast. Prefer the full episodes way more than the minisodes though simply because the more details the better for me but great podcast non the less

I liked the writing, which is crisp, and the smooth, even delivery. The insights into social aspects of the crimes help me to understand some of the larger contexts and issues involved. Thank you for all your work.

I’d rather listen to the facts of the crime without the personal opinions and comments of the narrator - perhaps comment at the end - I am, unfortunately, turned off. Sorry.

I listen to several crime podcasts similar to this one where it is a story told with facts rather than chatting etc, and this one is my least favourite.
