Hilarious
The first episode which introduced us to the “reporters” was hilarious. They spent an inordinate amount of time talking about cinéma vérité (that’s fly on the wall for us plebs.) As someone who loves documentaries, especially fly on the wall I continued listening. I thought, great, a Broomfield-esq true crime pod even though these people talking sound insufferable. Well, I listened to an episode or two (time I will never get back) and to everyone’s surprise (yeah, right) this podcast is terrible. The introduction episode was already a condescending mess but I held out hope. But, no, this is a couple of privileged people dissecting (waxing lyrical) non-important details about those living less privileged lives. There is no fly on the wall, this is a literal gossip session drenched in white wine. Plainly, a waste of everyone’s time.

Conservatively 50% of this show is the hosts talking about themselves, what they do, how they do it. Unless you saw the tv show, you’d have no idea about the story being covered. Which is fine, but it’s advertised as a “true crime” podcast, not a “how we made a true crime podcast” podcast
