This podcast can be real good at times. It is a great idea and anyone who likes to read true crime books would like this except for the constant technical problems. I think I have listened to most all of these podcasts and I did that so if I wrote a review like this I would be fair with my opinion. I don't understand what can be so hard about making sure the guest is going to be there when the show starts. There are many shows where the guest never shows up. Dan sits there waiting and waiting for them and then at the next show you find out they got the time wrong or the day wrong or something else. Did it ever occur to the show to call an hour before to make sure they will be there?? Isn't that obvious?? Can't you tell the guest there will be a check in phone call? Or to have them call in before the show starts to make sure things go smoothly? Constant problems with the quality of the audio. This is another one that seems easy to fix. Buy a small mixer, used 30.00, Pipe the guest into a different line in. If there are problems edit that tape, boost the volume, listen to it before it airs to make sure it sounds OK. Isn't there anyone producing these shows? I was very patient with the first ten or more shows but I figured that the these problems would be worked out over time, but even the current shows can have problems. The other issue I have isn't techical but more of how the show is done. Dan must read the books before hand and he makes notes and kind of guides the author through the show bringing up the points he feels that need to be mentioned. This can be useful at times but I think it kind of slows the flow of the show. It seems to break the momentun that the author has. Perhaps letting the author tell the story in the way it occurs to him and then at the end of the show going over things that may have been missed. Perhaps this review is a bit harsh but if I didn't like the shows so much I would really care to even leave a review. I do like this podcast a lot and that is why when it gets messed up because of what seems like simple things it bothers me so much. I hope this show continues and this little issues go away. More reviews of True Murder
This podcast is absolutely packed with fascinating information, if you're a true crime buff you'll probably love it. Sometimes it's difficult to get past the terribly dull and akward sounding host, but luckily the authors do most of the talking.Read full review »

One of the best podcasts I listen to. I think Dan is extremely professional and I have even bought the books written by some of the authors he interviews. Would recommend this podcast to anyone interested in true crime.
