Hugely entertaining and informative
You wouldn’t think there are many laughs to be had out of disaster. Of course, some disasters (Coke marketing foul-ups) are easier to make fun of than others (the Moorgate train crash, for example). Phil and Phil find the laughs while still being respectful to the loss of life, though. The jokes aren’t able people dying, it’s more about the bizarre characters or circumstances that lead to these things happening, or it’s about things like bad attempts to cover up what happened. Are there disasters that are too horrific for this show? I notice they haven’t covered Aberfan yet, and let’s face it, there aren’t laughs in what happened there - even if there is satirical mileage to be had out of the Coal Board’s appalling behaviour before and after. So far, whatever the disaster, they’ve judge the levity vs seriousness well, and I recommend this podcast wholeheartedly.

I love this podcast. It’s particularly British in a way it’s hard to put your finger on.
