If you are on a similar journey there is no better resource than Father Mike Schmitz homily podcast. He explains everything in a clear and concise and heartfelt manner. He goes over the church's teachings and gives me answers to today's problems and then lets you know that today's problems are the same problems people had 2000 years ago when Jesus walked the Earth.
The fact that he does it with humor and passion and sprinkles in Batman references just adds gravy to the chicken fried steak.
