Fantastic podcast, but..
It pains me to give this podcast any less than the 5 stars that I think it deserves. However, as someone else has pointed out, Uncanny seems to be going in a different direction. The first season was incredible, and I really enjoyed the second. Before getting negative, I want to give Danny a shout-out because your involvement has been nothing less than stellar. You’re an asset to this podcast, and I don’t think anyone else could live up to the standard you’ve set. I also really enjoy the experts, especially the original ones from early on, that are repeat guests. It’s always nice getting a balanced perspective, whether I agree or not. One thing that the show is missing and that it would greatly benefit from, is discussion between the experts. A back and forth, where they can agree, disagree, or debate. While I enjoying Danny interviewing them, I think some things could be delved into a bit deeper. When I first discovered that a third season was on its way, I was elated. That unfortunately didn’t last for long when I realised the focus had become a TV show, which isn’t even available outside of the UK. As an Australian listener, this is extremely disappointing, but I accept it. I had assumed that season three would follow on from the prior two, doing either weekly or fortnightly episodes, so I decided to just take what I get. It’s been a total let down to see that only a few original episodes have been released so far, with the others all being old episodes released again. I will continue to eagerly await new episodes, and if things change for the better, I’ll be the first amend my review. Overall, it’s a great podcast and I’d still recommend it. I just wish the podcast was the primary focus, rather than TV shows, live shows, and rereleased old episodes. At the very least, it’d be cool to actually be able to watch the TV show, but without a VPN that’s not going to be possible.

Terrifying but so good!

The stories are brilliant but the presenter ruins it. The laboured attempts to build suspense are extremely off putting and patronising; it would be better to let the stories speak for themselves. Danny is too much, as though he is narrating a live show and trying to artificially build drama into...Read full review »
