The World Indoor Championships in Belgrade Serbia got underway at the beginning of March and it didn't disappoint. In the wake of George Floyd's murder, protests and raised awareness surrounding the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement erupted.  Sports organizations worldwide took note and showed solidarity by allowing athletes to peacefully protest without punishment.   However, in April 2021 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) upheld  Rule 50, which bans all peaceful protests at the Olympic Games. NFL football player DK Metcalf announced to the sports world that he would be jumping into a 100m competition with some world class sprinters at the USATF Golden Games in Walnut, California on May 9th.
