As a doctor, I have been struggling to grasp all these economy concepts. Never have they been presented in such a clear and concise way. Following this podcast, and “Cautionary Tales”, I believe Tim Hartford bonds, if issued, would be of high value. Thanks.

Tá an podcast seo ana mhaith ach níl cinnuit episodes agat. Ba mhaith liom níos mó “understand the economy” episodes

How about an episode displaying the qualities of a an asset that has a fixed decentralised supply. ? THE BITCOIN STANDARD ;) These are great.

The Energy Market episode must contravene the Trade Descriptions Act. The whole thing was simplistic and maybe of some (although doubtful) use to primary schoolchildren. It did say that the the market was complex and then proceeded to gloss over any complexities and add drivel about a phone...Read full review »

A great overview in layman’s terms of important economic principles. Would be an excellent resource for school classrooms or parents teaching financial literacy to their kids!

As others have said this should be standard in schools curriculum. Great show & presented in a way that’s easy to understand.

As a fairly educated and well read person in the natural sciences, and some philosophy and history, even for me the terminology and systems understanding of how the economy works is just taken for granted, everywhere. Only after acquiring a public policy degree did I actually understand something...Read full review »

Everybody would benefit greatly from listening to this. Schools should incorporate this into the curriculum.

An interesting and helpful way to learn about the economy and the related terminology. Nice 15 min segments so that you can digest it easily. As someone who really doesn’t understand the way the economy works, this has been really helpful and surprisingly enjoyable.

Really enjoying this series is short little beginners guide to the economy. Really understandable and give a really good basic understanding of some key aspects of the economy. Don’t expect anything to too technical - tho is very much for beginners buts it’s still a great little series.

To be fair, the only episode of this podcast I listened to was No. 3: Economic growth and GDP. The concept of economic growth raises some profound questions like: can economic growth go on forever on a finite planet, using more and more resources and pumping more and more CO2 into the...Read full review »
