Diverse, entertaining, dynamic podcast by and for writers
The Uni-Verse Podcast is worth listening to for its diversity, depth and insight into young writers mind at the University of Vienna, Austria. By inviting different members of the Uni-Verse Creative Writing Society to the podcast, the variety of texts read out and discussed is enormous, reaching from fairytales, post-apocalyptic prose and contemporary poetry to something in between that can't be pressed into established genres. The mixture of readings, discussions and questions, meaningfully crafted and spontaneously adapted to the guests and atmosphere lets time pass all too quickly and allows deeper insights into the Uni-Verse writers' minds. In addition to that, penal discussions as a variation of the interviewer-interviewee format centre around topics such as inspiration, motivation for writing, gender and writing, ideal writing spots and many other issues that are part of writers' everyday life. Although the podcast's quality is not always ideal, its content is fascinating and genuine on many levels, and presumably as the audience grows, so will the equipment! :)Read full review »
