“I've been trying to really enjoy this podcast. I think alot of what they do is really wonderful. My hesitation on further listens is I feel like I'm not really invited. My favorite Star Wars movie is The Phantom Menace. I think its beautiful and challenging. Responsible for many new ripples in this franchise that most all fans now embrace warmly. When I listen to any Star Wars podcast I have little patience for constant quips and jabs at the prequel era. It makes me feel like ..these are not the folks I would want to stand in a long Celebration line with. I'm not saying criticism isn't welcome if its done respectfully, but when the prequel films are dismissed (even in jest) in a such robust way as if all of fandom are behind that negative sentiment..it turns me off. Star Wars is a very large family with MANY members who have found that family through the love of the prequels. This podcast I think in many ways is fantastic, but for me...I don't really think I can keep listening if the entire story isn't at least respected. An episode of this podcast I heard had top 3 hated characters...that's fine...but I don't listen to hear about hate and negativity. Star Wars, for me personally is a space that I don't just invite anyone into...because yes, its means that much to me. It's my Christmas morning. All the terrible in the world...I can escape there. I just can't with these folks (fine folks...don't get me wrong)...I just can't fill that time listening to tired passive agressive jokes about 3 movies that have given me so much. I wish this podcast well. I really love fandom and over all its wonderful they are giving so much to Star Wars. I may be over sensitive but with so many Star Wars podcasts that aren't a negative place for half the saga...I guess I can afford to have my cake and eat it too. And on a side note...I'm not a young Prequel bloomer in my 20's...I'm an old school fan born in the 70's...but I've learned to come to these movies with child like passion. For me, I've learned its the best way to enjoy Star Wars, Ewoks, Jar Jar, the dreaded C3-P0. With love. I know...what a cornball. But that's passion right?!..haha.Sorry I can't hang with you guys.
