Consistently Terrific
Dear Unorthodox Crew: As a loyal listener since the first episode, I just wanted to add to the adulation you so richly deserve. I've been a Jew all my life (the Simms name was a change by my Dad who went from Ruben Simonoff to Robin Simms and finally got a job two weeks later). Anyhow, I may be the only person who has had the pelasure of serrving as an Executive Director of a Reform, Orthodox, and a Conservative shul. So speaking as someone who is really unorthodox, you guys are terrific, and a wonderful outlet to let everyone know that Jews can be smart, funny, and hip. (But wait, how is it possible that they don't know that already?) Keep up the great work.Read full review »

They hear this all the time, but I'm their biggest Gentile fan. Blame Dan Savage, because that's where I first heard Mark Oppenheimer.Read full review »

There is almost nothing Jewish about this podcast, except for the ethnicities of the hosts. Occasionally funny comments are made; but generally listen in to find out how detached American Jews view random topics with little to no connection to authentic Jewish thought or culture or Israel.

That's what I think this podcast is. It's interesting and honest about all of it's stuff. I love the irreverence of all three hosts (I am team unorthodox, and don't play favorites) and heimishness all in one. Highly recommend!!Read full review »
