Reflecting on Wellbeing with Te Whare Tapa Whā
Listen now
Description
Te Whare Tapa Whā is a wellbeing framework, developed by Mason Drurie in 1984, to see wellbeing from a te ao māori perspective - and indigenous perspective.  In this episode I breakdown the different parts of Te Whare Tapa Whā and share my perspective on how we manage our wellbeing from an indigenous perspective, what it looks like to ensure all parts of ourself are looked after. I include some exploratory questions that you can ask yourself to dive a little deeper into ensuring your Whare Tapa Whā is standing strong, well and long-lasting.  I hope this episode gives you some insights into how to approach wellbeing from one indigenous perspective (there are many!) and also a reminder that identity and connections to self, to others, to the environment all play a role in our wellbeing too.
