God you both love to hear yourselves talk. The thing is that neither of you listens to the other obviously because you both repeat what the one just said. Also, you stretch a 3 minute story into a long and boring conversation that no one wants to hear. The only thing unraveling here is this...Read full review »

This is a potentially interesting case that these two amateur sleuths manage to make about as riveting as listening to paint dry. The podcasters repeat themselves over and over and turn what should be a 5 episode podcast into 15 excruciating episodes. I confess I skipped and skimmed to try to...Read full review »

I wish you guys didn’t spend so much time on repeating what each other says. It’s annoying. Like he says something and she comes back and repeat exactly what he said in her own words, and he does the same. The story is interesting though.

Please stop slurping or sniffing or whatever is happening at the end of sentences.

Really enjoyed the LISK series ( though not knowing the conclusion of the investigation is making me crazy! Obviously not down to you, but still wish it were tied up). Voices not distracting, which is great, but wish you would investigate the accusative voice. You would never say “he hit I.” So...Read full review »

Where did this go in the end?? I’m into episode 7 and all I know is that the hosts “are going to” discuss more and they’re “going to” get into those details later. You lost me as a listener. One host says something, then the other host repeats it? Not going anywhere. Needs help.

Preliminary trial is not a trial before the real one. Women had careers & jobs in the ‘80’s & teaching was hardly a big leap.

I couldn’t give one star because, hey, I’m not doing anything productive at the moment so who am I to give one star. Anywho...this was so excruciating to listen to. I’ve read thru the reviews and the tone is negative. But hey let’s all try to put together a p-cast and see how confusing ,clear and competent we all are. This was a confusing case with a lot of details! And I swear I’ve yet to see a podcast review that those hosts accents, voices, presentation...Read full review »

This case is tragic and infuriating in so many ways, but also very interesting and a story that needs to be told. Great research and great storytelling. I hope there will be a season 2!

I think a concept map of where they wanted the podcast to go - or at least some guidelines would have worked wonders. It’s repetitive and all over the place and not organized well at all. Had to give up.

Do they just read from the internet or did they actually get case info? Seems like they are just reading their own reddit thread It’s amazing how great of crime detectives they think they’d be using hindsight. Happens all the time when you get yougins think everything was the same for...Read full review »

Interesting topic, but Caleb and Marissa have no broadcasting presence. Their voices are nasal; their articulation lazy and drawling. Dry and stiff script. I do not care for the numerous humorous crime casts, but this one has as much depth as the old school body chalk outlines. Far too many...Read full review »

Extremely amateurish, ineffective presentation. Both podcasters repeat things over and over, fill up each episode with valueless speculation and gab, & just are plain irritating. They unfold the tale without in an unclear and incomplete way. Their comments are so obvious & superficial...Read full review »

I like the subject matter and professional presentation, but the sound quality and background noise is awful! It pains me to say it, but the sound quality alone causes this podcast to seem amateur, as if it were teenagers recoding in their parents basement. It’s a shame, because I actually really...Read full review »

There have been some amazing true crime podcasts , but although it’s an interesting story the format of this one make it limp and boring. It seems amateurish , rambling and not engaging . I found myself drifting off to thoughts of the day Instead of hanging onto every word like I’ve done with...Read full review »

Pretty good. A very interesting case well told, if perhaps drawn out unnecessarily, particularly by the male host repeating information just given by an interview subject or his co-host. (We heard it the first time!) in his annoying voice unsuited for broadcasting. The female host tends to...Read full review »

I really want to like this podcast but the informal conversation between the hosts just end up being one interrupted thought or reiterated thought after another. I got to Episode 4 but couldn't go on - I only stayed that long in the hope that they would get their act together and tighten the presentation. The episodes are sprawling and unnecessarily repetitive, and the frequent 'you know's and 'absolutely's are really annoying. The format is amateurish...Read full review »

Repetitive and also vocal fry from both parties makes this unlistenable. So sick of this becoming so commonplace amongst people who chose to create audio content! ;(

Proceed with the understanding that I am not in any way picking on anyone here... I am simply writing what I wish I would've read prior to listening to this podcast ... In the final episode, Caleb noted they did their best to provide all the details in an un-biased convention. Nothing could...Read full review »

Series 1 may well have been an interesting tale, but the two presenters 'interview' each other (the lawyer pretends he doesn't know legal stuff that he asked the non-lawyer to answer)in a meandering and repetitive style. Like Serial but without the investigative aspect. The original host plays interviewer to the researcher who answers his questions. They're reporting on existing research. You won't learn anything here that isn't already available to read. It's also very repetitive and moves...Read full review »

I cant get past the whiney vocals of the man (and often the woman as well). He also reads lines like he is on a second grade reading level. I feel like I wasted time listening to two high shcool kids having a whiney conversation. Good idea but awful execution.
