George Municipality confirms identification of 6 of the 32 people killed in the George building collapse

The George Municipality says six of the 32 people who died when a partially built building collapsed last week, have been identified. This as discrepancies in building regulations have come under the spotlight in light of the collapsed building disaster. On a site visit to the area, Minister of public works and infrastructure, Sihle Zikazala, described it as the biggest built environment disaster in South Africa's history. According to the municipality, 20 workers are still unaccounted for while 12 others are hospitalised. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Executive Mayor of George, Leon van Wyk.
