Good but should be better
Episode 1 is a great story and timely with everything going on in society. The reporter/editors did a thorough job and they tell a riveting story but the coverage of the concept of narrative truth vs historical truth was poor. Narrative truth was maligned as a fault found in a shamed individual, explained away as a subjective reality, a figment of the imagination of an individual who comes from a family with broken genes. It positions fiction as being inferior to factual journalism as a method for excavating truth. IMO, it’s arrogant and indulgent evidenced here by a less experienced storyteller lodging these tacit accusations about a veteran scholar who is a Pulitzer Prize winning author. It shows poor listening skills and/or a lack of knowledge on the part of the station. I’m a big NPR supporter but this irreverent editorializing happens way too often.

So much more tho. She talks about the perp like he is a good friend and about the victims family like...Read full review »

Host’s style is a little stilted and narrative goes more slowly than it needs to. This is feedback vs. criticism — delivery is something that can be tweaked :)
