Loved it!
I’m kind of burnt out on true crime but this was told very well. I loved that the real life people tell it from their own lived experience versus a story teller telling me their story. I was hooked and this is the only thing I’ve listened to in the past week. As for Sophia, I realize we are all complex creatures, we are shaped by many factors and trauma plays a significant role in our development. Is she guilty? We may never fully know the story. Regardless, I found the story telling remarkable. Thank you for sharing this story with all of us.

While I sometimes felt this podcast treated Jake as if he had been exonerated and it was a wrongful conviction, I still really enjoyed the reporting, which was thoughtful and engrossing. I heard about this podcast on NPR, so I thought I’d give it a try— it’s good, but the sound is awful— I wish the podcasters would have just acted out the calls and old recordings. You really need headphones to hear it all clearly.
