Really original way to tell a story - through both a family member and a journalist. So sad that the police seemed so dogmatic (or ignorant?) in their thinking that they couldn’t fully investigate the case when it actually had a shot at being solved.

This podcast has shown the massive cracks in our justice system . The murder of Vishal was life changing for all who knew him but they have been let down at so many junctures by the police. Colin Campbell has done an excellent job of reporting regarding this case . I am in awe of the bravery and...Read full review »

Really excellent podcast, however is a bit dragged out at the beginning.

Great, though infuriating, podcast! I hope more answers, or at least clues, are uncovered. I appreciate how thorough and dedicated Colin is, but I wanted to say I thought Vishal’s brother was an even better host and enjoyable person to listen to! Would love to hear more from him at some point, if...Read full review »

What an amazing example of top tier journalism. Such an important story!! The incompetence of those cops is criminal!!!! Just an absolute disgrace. Hope the family gets justice.

Sad
Just so shocking and sad. Human behaviour at its worst. Well researched and presented with bravery shown by the victims and researchers who participated. Not for entertainment but a lot to be learned. Faith in humanity now needs restored. 5 stars to the team. Terribly sad that it takes a podcast...Read full review »

A compelling podcast that meticulously researches the tragic story, bringing fresh eyes into what most likely happened to him. His dignified father and loving family have lived with this terrible loss for far too long.

There is a good four episode podcast here. Sadly there are nine episodes. Repetition and an insistence on extended sections that need only a minute ruin this. Shame as it is an important story to tell

Well done BBC on an outstanding podcast investigative series into the murder of this little boy. So many strands followed up and brought together. Yes it is “true crime” but thanks to the journalistic skills and contributions from Vishal’s family, it never feels exploitative.

I couldn’t listen beyond about 5 minutes. The music is just so overpowering and inappropriate

Did the cops have some behavioral or psychological studies supporting their belief that paedophiles who abuse kids in their care get satiated, and thus don’t hunt kids elsewhere? It’s preposterous, and the host shouldn’t have said it’s “hard to argue with.” As a straight male, I’ll hook up with...Read full review »

The bravery of the victims brought tears to my eyes as did the words of Vishwals father. Tragic story, leaves you frustrated with the police and horror at how this can all happen. Well done to the podcast makers

This takes you on quite a journey, through family tragedy, casual and insidious racism, horrific child abuse and it’s fall out, bravery, determination and missed opportunity. Really very much worth a listen. So many twists and turns.

Great listen, tragic story! I’m really curious to know why the family is not able to file a lawsuit against the police if there is a question of negligence.

One of the best, though heartbreaking, podcasts I’ve listened to recently. It’s told partly by Vishal’s brother, born many years after Vishal was abducted and murdered, and also by a BBC reporter, spurred on by a retired detective who tried but was unable to get local police to do anything. It’s...Read full review »

Wonderful content - fantastic investigative journalism. My only question is why this series makes no reference to the earlier reported link to Elm Guest House- even if to tell the audience that this lead was a dead end.
