I Lasted for Almost a full 100 Episodes!
Mike is good for understanding biblical context, but has turned into "Politically Correct Bible Teacher". I survived 99 1/4 episodes and decided to call it quits. Some of his hang-ups: Some of the sources Mike uses for news are highly suspect. Many podcasts he refers to Twitter as to what people are saying, but I would hardly use that as source of good information or relevancy. His criticism of other political views tends to be based on utopian ideals. The Kingdom of God has yet to be fully actualized. Any other system by man will always fall short due to man's sin nature. However, this doesn't mean that cultures or political systems are all morally equal. Some are better than others. For example, Mike will critique the MAGA slogan as a platonic ideal, which it is not meant to be. He will state, “When was America ever great?” I respond, “compared to what other real country?” If that country is better then Mike is encouraged to move there. There is a lot of weird psychology where standards are inconsistently applied. For example, the episode he talked about white supremacists, but no mention of ANTIFA was strange for a follower of non-violent Jesus. The 100th episode where he talks about people lying is where I turned it off. Apply the same standard to everyone including yourself. I wish I could write a lot more, but I’ll leave you with this… If a fellow Christian believed 2+2=3 I would certainly be able to fellowship with him because that belief is non-essential to the faith. I would try to explain why that equation is not correct. However, there comes a point where that person’s frame of reference is so backwards that you just have to move on. That’s the Vox Podcast.Read full review »

It is apparent that Mike is in love with Jesus, with the way he turns the religion of his day on its head, and with the way that he loves those in the margins. Additionally, Mike gives us new ways to think about how Jesus may have interacted with our culture today and the difficult conversations...Read full review »
