Ostensibly About Comics - Always Entertaining
Chris and Matt always bring a smile to my face when I'm listening to this podcast. While the premise of the show is built around comics, they are never afraid to allow themselves to go into strange tangents and topics - like an in-depth analysis of the inherent creepiness of "Mrs. Doubtfire" - and that really goes a long way to setting this show apart. When they interview their guests, they don't (always) pander to their guests and ask the expected interview questions - their interviews feel like real conversations, and they can often cover some very unexpected ground (such as interview with Greg Rucka turning into an extensive analysis of "The Prisoner", or the now legendary/infamous "Bag of Salt" episode). While they certainly devote a lot of airtime to debates over barbecue and wrestling (not at the same time, usually), they also love to talk about comics that they love (and ones they hate), and are always entertaining and engaging. And seriously, if you only listen to one episode, go back into the archives and dig up the episode titled "Bag of Salt." It's pretty great.Read full review »

The hosts are both funny and informative. The guests are always great. Matt Fraction anyone? The best intro song in all comic podcast land. And they keep me in a good mood during tedious manual labor(work blahhh) don't worry I'm not a crane operator.Read full review »

I really like their sense of humor and the guests they bring on. They seem to really know what's up in the world of comics and pop culture in general. I was shopping around for a good comic podcast and I think I found it.Read full review »

WRA is one of the most consistently entertaining podcasts I've listened to. The guests are great, and the hosts manage to strike a pretty good balance between interesting commentary with ridiculous jokes and conversations about BBQ. Well worth listening to!Read full review »
