“Really wanted to like it, but have to say I'm very disappointed in KCRW for letting this one out of the gate. First episode I listened to, "the Grifter" turned out to be a frankly boring story about the author's own narcissistic jugementality. He ackowledges as such, but that still doesn't make up for the 45 minutes I wasted on it. Second episode I tried, "the Recruiter" I could not get through. A sloppily edited pastiche of a life story that turned so gratuitously graphic I finally pulled the plug. I'm no prude, but the narration got ecessively raw, like a shady drunk uncle at a hot afternoon bbq, and was unnessary to the story, such at is was. Sorry, this might've been a decent pitch, but the execution of the podcast just doesn't deliver. There's so much better audio out there. Delete.”Read full review »
