Definitely not to be left for dead
I hadn't followed a radio drama since I was a young boy but on the recommendation of a friend I gave We're Alive a shot. The early episodes are not the strongest and occasionally the humour falls flat but when the series gets into its stride it is truly something to behold. We're Alive does an amazing job of presenting the action and balances the cliff hangers well with the "reveals". The performances are almost always great but particular praise should be heaped on the Scott Marvin, Nate Geez and Jenna McCombie who play Burt, Saul and 'Scratch respectively. McCombie does an excellent job of making the listener actively dislike her character and I am considering dedicating the rest of my life to cultivating a voice like that of Scott Marvin. It is truly compulsive listening - I went through the entire first series in 3 days. I almost want it to be autumn already so there are new episodes.Read full review »
