Sowing confusion
The one thing this podcast does effectively is recreate the confusion around what exactly happened to Sophie Toscan du Plantier on the horrible night on which she was murdered. The cacophony of voices, most without any verifiable factual Information (partly because the investigation was so badly bungled from the start), is headache-inducing. So much conjecture and baseless accusation, so little evidence. I feel terrible for Sophie, her family, and friends. It’s outrageously unjust and sickening how much of an attraction this woman’s murder has become and this podcast does little to fight that injustice. Voyeuristic and insensitive, the narration is driven by questionable motives - fame, recognition, acknowledgement - by all involved, including most grievously, the prime suspect who takes the lion’s share of the attention. Shameful.

A tragic story told with heart and humanity. One of the best true crime podcasts I’ve listened to. Highly recommend

It’s hard to listen to this without jumping to conclusions. But hearing interviews with one particular person is very damning. That person is fitting a very specific profile.

This is so good. Halfway through. They help bring Sophie’s story to light, and do a great job reporting. The accents (for me) are a huge plus as well.
