Awesome pod. Chillest guy.
Despite the humour, the sentiments expressed are sincere. Do read on. This podcast is truly an oasis in the vast information desert we find ourselves in. If you somehow found it, god bless you.. I suspect you didn’t expect to find it, and I suspect you are surprised at how good it is. It’s a damn good pod - genuinely good conversations about the kind of stuff you came here for, with the kind of people you’d hope to hear the stuff you came here for being discussed with. More than an Oasis, it’s an outpost, a frontier dry goods store of sorts, situated beyond the edge of the conventional, nourishing and equipping the weary adventurers who stumble across it… It could also be described as a lighthouse that casts its light out over the dark and jagged shores of a vast, unexplored sea of curiosities - illuminating just enough to let you know that there is more out there than you thought, and that you should perhaps keep exploring… Spending time with this pod will not just expand your perspective of the information landscape itself (something we all desperately need..), but it’ll reinvigorate a desire to know more of the right things about the world and people, and also to simply know more interesting things in general. Ryan unpacks a range of topics with fascinating people - from the geopolitical, to the economic, down to the story of the individual human. And lots more in between. And he does so in a way that you and your mates might imagine you could also do when you perhaps drunkenly say to each other “hey let’s start a geopolitical podcast!” - but he actually does do it. In fact he nails it. The tone is just right. Casual, oddly approachable - your own words but better - intelligent, curious and humanising. The quality of the topics, guests and conversations is 10/10. This is a high calibre pod. The one question I’m left with is how the hell hasn’t this podcast blown up already. Early adopters and intelligent investors take note.. Oh he’s also the chillest dude.. not just on the pod but irl - hit him up for a beer while you still can! 🚀📈

I had heard about the release of this book, and was skeptical about what qualified this new author to write on this topic. This thoughtful and insightful interview challenged that, and Patrick Watts has articulated beautifully for me why I should not give up hope for a better future for my kids....Read full review »

Ryan does a brilliant job finding interesting people and highlighting interesting stories from around the world. He is a great interviewer too - clearly well read and always well researched, he asks curious, intellectual and probing questions.
