What about our planet?
Absolutely, the podcast is engaging, but it's disheartening that sustainability hasn’t even been mentioned (that I heard anyway). As just one of many examples, the most recent guest's suggestion of a polka dot polyester top is a terrible recommendation. Polyester is problematic for the environment due to its production process and disposal. It's primarily derived from non-renewable resources like petroleum, contributing significantly to carbon emissions during manufacturing. Additionally, polyester garments shed microplastics when washed, polluting water bodies and harming marine life. Moreover, its non-biodegradable nature means it persists in landfills for centuries, further exacerbating environmental concerns. It's high time we prioritize sustainability, especially in an industry as damaging as fashion, to mitigate its effects on our planet and generations younger than us. This podcast run by mamamia would I’m sure be influencing many people’s buying decisions, it’s not too late to endeavour to do better for our world.Read full review »
