“It’s corrupt. The entirety of the government there, but particularly the police department. It’s been that way for decades. I recall PGPD being featured on a national news show in the late 90s or the early 2000s (dateline, 20/20?) for its ridiculous brutality record. That continues today.
For that reason, I find the credibility of the retired PGPD officer in season 2 highly unreliable in light of his book dedication that calls his former colleagues the best LEO in the business. They are, in fact, the worst.
I hope the podcast highlights this piece. It’s not insignificant. The police force was (and maybe still is) under federal investigation for its significant violations.”
