I love this podcast. I was 13 years old in rural Michigan in 1992, sneaking to watch MTV when my mom wasn’t around. This podcast has been a time machine back to those days. I’ve learned so much about the true stories of these songs and about the cultural landscape then. Please keep the...Read full review »

In 1992 I was a nonEnglish speaking 17 year old skipping class to stay home learning English by watching MTV. I was also passionate about any hints of political commentary in the local and international world, coming from a country that would soon see not only a coup-de-etat but major guerrilla...Read full review »

Loved listening to this and remembering all of the songs! How were they all in 92! Love the host and his commentary. Do wish there was the original music included but it was fun to go back and watch the videos on YT!

Pretty good so far. But one thing they are WAY OFF on is that logo. No graphic design looked like that in 1992. That logo is pure 1986. Any pastel colors were put away long before the 90's!!Read full review »

I love this podcast! I’ve been recently reflecting on how great 1992 was for music and was so excited to find this podcast. There are so many great episodes and highlights from that year. Looking forward to many more episodes on the wonderful music of 1992! PS: hoping there are episodes about...Read full review »

Echoing the main complaint! The host is wonderful. But dude, it’s torture sometimes without the actual music being referenced.

Ok. Sounds like he had an music essay to write and this podcast is him reading it to us. No music to go with it??? No clips? No nothing. Then when it came to GNR he had to go political??? Gross. Just talk about the music! Clearly he and then female he interviewed are not conservatives and assumes...Read full review »

I’m so moved by it. Every episode has been wonderful, but this one brought back so much for me. I revisit this album every year or so and that experience will be so enriched by this backstory. Thanks so much, Jason! It was so generous of you to share your own experiences in this episode.

He does a good job telling the mythology of these songs, but WHERE ARE THE SONGS?!? Not even clips! Seems strange to make a podcast about iconic songs without getting rights to play them..

The host is a great interviewer and it’s apparent he did a lot of research for each episode. There is something for everyone on this podcast. I learn something new every week.

Cool podcast and interesting stories, especially as someone who lived through this period. There are lots of great insightful interviews, usually including the artist themselves. However it’s odd that samples of the actual songs being discussed are never played during the podcast. That would...Read full review »

This is such an incredible podcast! It brings back so many memories of the music and artists of that year. I hope that you'll cover the song 'Rhythm is a Dancer' by Snap! That was such a huge song that year.Read full review »

I don’t understand how a massive corporate entity like iHeart could neglect to get the rights to the actual tracks described in the episodes. They include musical backdrops that sound similar to the style of the songs discussed instead. The commentary is great but I find it strange that I have to...Read full review »

A podcast about music that doesn’t play any of the music it talks about. Instead, we’re treated to terrible stock music while the host does his best to describe the song to us. I’m guessing it’s because they can’t afford the royalties or something, but it’s rather unfortunate.

Part Behind the Music, part pop culture time machine. 3 episodes in and I can’t wait to see where this goes next. I was only 7 in 1992 but the nostalgia factor is still getting me! Great storytelling and interviews, the episodes are long but don’t drag. Well produced and promising.
