Fascinating

This show annoyed me so much. This host was completely tunnel visioned and set her sights on someone and wouldn’t be swayed. The DNA said it wasn’t him or any males in his family and she is still chasing that narrative. Why does she believe one witness over another ?!? Why does she assume someone...Read full review »

This was so well done. We are definitely wanting more please. Praying for an ending for the family.

the way she badgers witnesses to try to get them to say things that didn’t happen or can’t remember is exactly how people get wrongly accused or convicted. Not suprized if she gets sued. Poorly done.

Hard to stop listening once you start. Such a good true crime podcast. Desperately waiting for season 2. Pls release it soon! X

Love this podcast! What a horrible way this young woman met her end! Sure hope the killer/killers are found and are convicted for this heinous crime.
Gingersnap184 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/17/24
This was bad. Sad for the woman who lost her Mom, she deserves better. This is the “How Not To” of true crime investigation & podcast. DO NOT TALK to the COPs. Episode 7 they admit: “A lie is better than the truth b/c then all I got to do is disprove it”. By badgering the old country dude for...Read full review »

This podcast was super good in the beginning but falls apart in the end. I don’t know how the host of the shoe could’ve been a detective for any lender of time. She is making decisions and driving the investigation based off her triggers and emotional responses to a suspects comments vs evidence....Read full review »

I am hooked! Just finished episode 8 ready to hear new developments and realized that was the last episode. Keep it coming! Justice for Renee!

This story started out well, but I started to question the integrity of the investigation around episode 6/7. I think it’s clear that the host is completely biased. It’s extremely sad because David is clearly an old man who cannot remember exactly what he did 30 years ago. When the DNA didn’t...Read full review »

The podcast is interesting and really sad. People can be awful and I hope this victim gets justice someday. Someone should tell the narrator however that bringing an opposite bias to a situation doesn’t make you unbiased. I think a fresh perspective is important and needed but don’t complain...Read full review »

Solving a cold case episode by episode. It’s fascinating and I will listen to everything Sarah Cailean creates.

I’m also here from Rabia and Ellyn, and I’m glad I am. This is one of my favorite investigative podcasts and I would listen to Sarah talk about anything she’s researched. Truly excellent.

This is a great investigative podcast and I definitely recommend listening. I have listened to many different podcasts over the years now and even though I think the host is doing an amazing job she comes across unprofessional when interacting with her partner. She never lets him speak or finish...Read full review »

Great investigative podcast. Doesn’t hash over the same interviews or subjects to fill time. Love the host and her perspective. Hoping for more episodes soon!

I discovered this podcast when Sarah Cailean was a guest on “Rabia and Ellyn Solve the Case”. This series had me leaving for work early because I listen in the car. It’s very well done.

The investigation was done the right way this time! It’s a great story that needed to be told. God bless Sarah and Renee’s family.

Well produced podcast, for sure. I was for sure getting frustrated with Sarah as she seemed to lock in on one suspect without more proof or evidence. I appreciated that her counterpart balanced her out but I would have liked a bit more reflection on her part. This annoyed me less, though, than...Read full review »

I wish I knew from the beginning that she wasn’t going to find the murderer. The last episode’s title is misleading. It looked like they figured it out. I’m really frustrated.

This amazing podcast had me hooked from the first moment. There was a great deal of care taken with interviewing the family, and it was so well made. Very much looking forward to updates.

I did listen all the way through hoping it would get better or that the hosts blatant bias would be checked by actual evidence, but that did not happen. Last episode offered nothing new. The way she hyper focused on one suspect and then said over and over she was triggering him on purpose to get...Read full review »

I have been a true crime podcast listener for many years and have listened to many deep dive podcasts, which are my favorite. I listened to this one through episode 7 and couldn’t go further. Sarah is loud, talks over important guests, argues, and uses the annoying “like” too much. Her manner of...Read full review »

I love Sarah Cailens approach to cold cases, using victimology. I learned so much about how crime is normally investigated and how it should be investigated. Especially for marginalized communities. Thanks Rabia and Ellyn for introducing me to Sarah on your podcast.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and this is one of the best ones. It’s a compelling case and I love Sarah Cailean’s detective work and empathy toward the victim and her family. Hope there’s a second season and Renee’s killer is brought to justice.

The research and access to the investigation really makes this a truly engaging podcast. I can’t wait for the follow up episodes/future seasons. Bingeworthy!

I enjoyed listening in the beginning but this host is something else. I tried to listen till the end but I really couldn’t. She constantly interrupts others in conversations. Also, is she even a detective? If so, she needs a lot of training. She gets tunnel vision. She focuses on one “suspect”...Read full review »

Listened thanks to Georgia/MFM. Lots of misogyny in the comments here—ignore it! Sarah does justice to Renee’s story and the way her death was dismissed when it happened. Well worth the listen.

focusing all your investigation on one man who appears to be somewhat mentally incompetent and grilling him about memories from 30 years ago and making it seem as if he is the most credible suspect left me feeling icky, and it just seems unprofessional. This is how cops get false confessions.
Unknown._. via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/09/23
Poorly presented and poorly investigated. Felt desperate and downright shady towards the end. Stuck with it hoping it improved but unfortunately it remained a tough listen.
bb19274628 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/09/23
I’ve decided that listening to someone interview a suspect is like watching someone else play solitaire. 😆 It’s a little maddening. Why did you interrupt him?!?? He was about to answer you! Why wouldn’t you agree with him there to make him talk more?!? You were almost there! Why would you ask...Read full review »
