“I don't typically enjoy Paul Thurrott's website(s). All too often the excellent Microsoft/Windows/Media news is supplanted by transparent link-baiting targeted at alternate companies and OSs. It has become so blatant, so disappointed, I've stopped reading them. (Zen note to Paul: Increase you line, don't cut others.) I explain this only to show the contrast between my opinion of Thurrott's web presence and my opinion of this podcast. You see, I like this podcast quite a bit. I don't know if Leo Laporte is a much-needed moderating element or if, absent the perceptual shield afforded by the 'net, it forces a more authentic Thurrott, but week after (most) week, this podcast provides interesting interviews and thoughtful analysis of the Windows and Microsoft ecosystems. Like some other TWiT-casts, the hosts do occasionally get lost in tangent (Note to Leo: Windows Rat-hole theme, please?) but more often than not, the tangents are just as informative as the main subjects.”Read full review »
