Mostly good
The good: This has a different perspective not only from other podcasts but from many of the forums/discussion groups I visit. If you include their blogs, these ladies got me to take a good hard look at my own unconscious sexism. I thought I was a feminist but when I watched the ENT episode Horizon, why was I only focused on T'Pol finally going on a date (albeit not romantic) with Trip instead of the fact he and Archer were pressuring her into doing something social? What's scary is that few (if any fans) ever talk about this, let alone call them out. Great job girls for challenging my worldview and being woke enough to see certain things that most people overlook! The bad: I agree with another reviewer that the biggest weakness is that they have the same opinions 99% of the time. Even when all 4 of them are there. I lost count of how many times they said yeah in consensus. Most Trek FM podcasts with only 2 people have a lot more dissent. I was very disappointed in the unlikable women episode. When discussing T'Pol's mistakes in her romance her Trip, they say what do you expect from a Vulcan who never had this type of relationship? I can see how her inexperience makes relationships harder for her but I don't like how they excused her because she's Vulcan. And I say this as a huge fan and defender of T'Pol. While imposing your own culture on others is bad, shrugging off what's wrong because it's "their culture" is just as problematic. The dropped the ball by going down this slippery slope. I doubt they would be this forgiving towards a male Vulcan who did the same to his human lover.Read full review »

More reviews of Women at Warp
That may sound like women just beating up on Jim Kirk for an hour. This show is so much more than that. These women love Trek. More importanly they know what they're talking about. Their take on TOS' Wolf in the Fold made me reexamine my own attitude toward Trek's most misogynist...Read full review »

There are a lot of men doing podcasts about Star Trek, but not very many women. Thank Ishka that Women at Warp has come along to help fill the void. The hosts of this show are intelligent, funny, and unflinching in their discussions of our favorite Science Fiction series, yet their undying love...Read full review »
