Concerns
Hi Laura and Crew, As a woman, and as a solo traveller of considerable experience I have enjoyed your podcasts... until recent times...it is becoming increasingly clear to me that being a straight white woman I too am being marginalised... I feel threatened if I speak plainly, not by being on the road as such but by listening to your podcasts... it’s very clear that it is a crime to be a white straight woman... regardless of my individual nature... this further segregation of women is the crime....we are all women for crying out loud.... many of us white straight women have stories that are traumatic too... as a child I spent my childhood in a predominately black community where I was frequently waylaid by small gangs of black kids who would threaten to rob and beat me up... I was raised by two single women, my mother and my grandmother both were poor and very hard working. I went on to become a teacher and spent years teaching and living in black communities... I adored my calling...in my almost 70 years on this beautiful planet I’ve seen so many changes... many fantastic changes especially in the attitude towards women and women’s rights. Nonetheless I have encountered my share of bigotry...attitudes towards women seemed to be on the way up, along with the gay rights and the dissolution of slavery, and the the unclenching of the fist of paternalism I believed we were moving forward towards a brighter future for all... now it seems I was entirely incorrect...the newest segregation is against white, straight women, who travel, it’s a kind of a war....the segregation comes from LGBTW or queer communities... the hit back seems spiteful and malicious... and podcasts like yours, which will never own to being sexist and separationist, but which is... ...wherever one looks it is wrong to be white! Wrong to be straight! I have always found segregation in all its ugly mutations to be abhorrent... The all so obvious overarching need by all is to accepted, respected and loved... I acknowledged the God given right that all are equal regardless of colour or creed... but we keep dividing into thousands of splintered off sections or communities each demanding recognition and rights... and creating more and more turmoil and separation... and confusions.🌸 Sisters we need to toughen up! We need to be collective and inclusive of all...what we do not need is to be ostracised... or to ostracise others...Life is not equal, never has been never will be, the simple act of claiming individual rights is where the rot set in... we are by nature meant to work together for survival...to be inclusive and collective... therein lies our strength...the many diverse rights are confusing and complicating... the ordinary women or man on the street regardless of colour or persuasion just simply wants to get along...to be able to live their lives... the majority accept the changes and that’s huge... in these harsh times we need to focus our energies the real issues that threaten our survival such as the acceptance and environment, overcoming poverty and Corona... this is a time to put aside the individual ego and pull together and work as a community of women...of people...

This is the first podcast I listen to. I follow Noemi on IG and wanted to listen to her interview. Now I’m binge listening to your channel. Loving it. 💕
