Encyclopedic Knowledge & Genuine Sincerity
Perhaps the most wonderful aspect of the Word is that David Hepworth and Mark Ellen’s passion for rock music remains completely undiminished despite having covered it for well over 50 years. The knowledge is encyclopedic but it’s their humour, humility and sheer genuineness that shine through on every episode. Their range of guests is equally impressive making the show a sheer delight for listeners keen to expand their own knowledge of rock or just to enjoy the musings of two of the finest journalists the genre has produced.

More reviews of Word In Your Ear
He’s only retiring from touring not live performance. He’ll still do residencies and one-offs from time to time. He still says performing live is his favourite thing. And why wouldn’t Goodbye Yellow Brick Road be his final song ever when like it is on his farewell to touring tour?
