This is a very enjoyable literary podcast looking at the works, people and events that have shaped popular fiction. The topics are thoroughly researched, the episodes are briskly paced, without feeling hurried and sprinkled with humour. Conor Reid, has created a little gem.

One can learn an astonishingly mass of new information in a shor timeframe. In this podcast, it is also in a very animating way! Also: I like the voice, calm and relax and with an irish lilt.

This podcast takes me back to the absolute best parts of my literature degree - minus the wordiness. The stories it explores are told simply but engagingly, with knowledgeable guests and plenty of topics I have never learned about before. The narration is also really well done. Consider me hooked!

Many podcasts are bloated and take too long to get to their endpoint. Not so with this one. It's a succinct yet informative show that covers interesting topics. Worth a listen.Read full review »
