Patreon??
I loathe commercials and this has the most egregious type. I'm accustomed to pods sponsored by low key products and services for which you enter the pod's code when you buy or ... here's what some do… they have a Patreon so we can get our own version without advertising. I'd almost forgotten why I'd started giving on Patreon on TheThinkingAtheist and possibly Ostium since I appreciate the podcasts, like the bonus shows in the case of TheThinkingAtheist (and other ones that do it) and in general like trading a small amount of money for the benefit I get from them. I chose to support many for a small amount rather than a few for larger amounts in order to demonstrate to the hosts how much I value their work. It’s too hard for me to listen past commercials to get to the information on this pod so I find myself skipping shows, dropping episodes back to the bottom of my queue, etc. Dogs are critically important to human culture and development, possibly their evolution; Temple Grandin has referred to evidence of the human brain becoming domesticated at the time we began our association with canids so I want to hear as much information on dogs and dog-human interaction as I can. Service and therapy dog needs are a policy area we all need to consider, and not in way of saying “strict adherence to the ADA guidelines is the only way forward in effecting our approach to dogs in public places”. My community is more welcoming to dogs than most so I’m able to see their power in groups, especially primitive Northern breeds. Last night I watched a GSD X husky-type engage with people in a laundromat; the people then engaged with each other, likely facilitated by the dog and with the same finesse of my GSD X Alaskan Malamute service dog.* (She died 7 weeks ago- talk to your vet about hemangiosarcoma when your dog reaches middle age even if she’s in perfect health like mine when diagnosed) I have a degree in animal behavior and hope people take the time to think about things from their dog’s perspective- although I know they don’t always do that. There’s a growing number of relevant podcasts and I’d like to take advantage of the ones with good information so please find a way to get less obnoxious advertising. * She detected & communicated to me a physiological imbalance so smoothly I responded without hearing her wordsRead full review »

Who doesn't love dogs, especially working dogs? My dog should probably listen to this since he doesn't like to go to work! Thank you Marcie!Read full review »

Hopefully this new episode means more are to come. I love the stories of working dogs. This show inspired me to certify my dog as a therapy dog and start volunteering. Keep the episodes coming.

Marcie talks about all types of working dogs, and she has great insight into working dog since she has had several service dogs. Marcie is very engaging and talks about interesting topics.
