In this episode we discuss Phaneroo's Gnostic teaching on humanity, its consequences in shaping how those who follow it perceive themselves and Christ. We compare this to what the Bible actually teaches about the creation story, the goodness of the body and the image of God. We look at the practical implications of Phaneroo's understanding of man on life, salvation and worship.  TO SUPPORT THIS MINISTRY AND PODCAST Please visit; https://veracityfount.org/donate/ MTN MOMO: Account Name:...

What is the place of studying in our quest to know God? Many Christians in Uganda look suspiciously on giving ourselves to study books, the Bible and reading as a means to know God. Does study make us 'bookish'? and unable to tap into 'the realm of the Spirit'? How best can we give ourselves to study without falling into the trap of being puffed up and prideful? Where do we even begin from to study well? This episode features Boaz Atuheire and Barbra Lange from Living Word Uganda as we...

Voting is neither negligible nor ultimate because a Christian’s “pilgrim” identity must shape how they engage everything, including politics.   As Uganda votes, we remind ourselves of our transcendent, yet relevant outlook in a temporal world we find ourselves in.  We ponder what it means to be “in the world but not of it” (John 17:14-16)

Someone told this generation that the world is the problem and the solution is within, yet scripture shows we are our main problem and the solution required a Saviour from without.  How you diagnose the human condition is central to which solutions you offer, and how you define happiness. Whereas lots of slogans and media messaging today constantly point believers to self sovereignty.  God liberates us from the tyranny of self and invites us to instead deny it and follow the one who knew no...

JJ Smith once said self improvement is like a boiling kettle, it heats faster (keenly) unobserved.  And so is the Christian life,   The more attention we get off ourselves the more likely we are to grow, behold, and change.  Or like the author of Hebrews 12 implies, the more we fix our eyes on Jesus, the more we overcome what easily entangles.  No wonder many of our self-improvement projects fall flat, we set up the wrong goals and consequently live inferior lives.

A “pandemic”, a “humbling of a civilization”, “COVID19” what haven’t we called the recent crisis?  Everything pales in light of imminent death, as church locations ceased this Sunday, as supermarket choices dropped, one thing remained—a steadfast hope amidst fear and chaos, a Christian hope.  To abide in Christ is to live out the good news amidst the bad.  But how then do you live as a treasured possession in a pandemic?

Distraction is the new duty, what used to reside inside a thousand minds is now a matter of public consumption.  The digital age is invading how we think of ourselves, God and the world around us.  As fragile identities lurk behind images, tweets and uploads, believers in Christ must ask bolder questions.  Who am I? What do my media habits reveal about my real loves, how is my use of time advancing the gospel? What deserves my utmost attention, what is leisure in an embattled world?  What...

If  indeed wrong believing comes before wrong living, how we arrive at what we believe matters.  If indeed “rightly dividing  the word of truth” (2Tim 2:15) is central to our spiritual health. Then  how we do it is a matter of life, and death.  What is healthy Bible interpretation?
