This is an excellent podcast. Well produced, well edited, great interviews. I’ve found out about a lot of my new favorite books from listening. I highly recommend it!

The production quality of the podcast is excellent and the hosts are hilarious. I appreciate that each episode has a variety of authors. The mini interviews are as fascinating as the main one. My only complaint is that it is monthly because I always want more. Well done.

If you love books and enjoy learning how the sausage is made, this is the podcast for you. Eric and Steve ask good questions, listen and put themselves out there. A word of warning: Episodes are frustrating to listen to while driving. Why? Because the hosts (and guests) provide many, many...Read full review »

I reviewed this one back when there was just two episodes. I loved it then and may love it even more now. I like the new shorter format, which just fits my commute from the deep woods of Arkansas to my university job in “town.” The guests are a great mix of the greats and the soon-to-be great in...Read full review »

I listen to three podcasts on a weekly basis: Steve Cavanagh and Luca Veste’s Two Crime Writers and a Microphone (review) and Greg Barth’s Noir on the Radio (review). The third podcast, Writer Types, is newer to the scene as is hosted by Eric Beetner and S.W. Lauden. While the first two podcasts...Read full review »

Great production and quality guests. This is exactly the sort of bookish podcast we need more of.

Eric Beetner and SW Lauden keep it breezey and fun but still manage to find some great depth and insight into crime writing. Meanwhile the awesome Malmon's add their reviews of the latest mystery books out there. If you like crime fiction, this can't be missed.Read full review »

I've been looking for a podcast like this for a while. In two episodes they've already interviewed two of my heroes, and the piece from Shotgun Honey is always neat. Glad time and effort is being put into Writer Types.Read full review »

Well would you look at that: two episodes in and I'm addicted to this jazz. Eric and Steve bring a flow like they've been doing this for years. Great interviews, tight book reviews, humor and a sweet dusting of slick background music. Keep on doin' what cha doin' fellas!Read full review »

It’s fun to catch a podcast at its start and see how the show develops, but there are no beginner stumbles here. Fast, snappy interviews with crime and mystery writers, plus reviews and fiction. Jokey, but always interested in learning more. Hopefully they’ll have time and energy for...Read full review »
