Prevent Constipation with Yoga In this video I share with you a more holistic approach to preventing constipation with yoga, one that focuses on the physical, mental and emotional bodies. There are physical postures that support us in preventing constipation and when we combine them with mindful intention and support for our mental body the healing potential of yoga is quite inspiring. In this video I will talk about some of the mental and emotional reasons why constipation happens and how the mindful aspects of yoga can support us in slowing down and relaxing so that we can let go. There are so many yoga poses that can support us in slowing down, relaxing, and opening up so that we can let go. In this video I will share some of my favourites. I will also share some inspiring mantras and phrases that we can repeat to ourselves during our yoga practice to support us in trusting and accepting the people, experiences and emotions of our life so that we can release control and flow freely. Physically it is most supportive to compress the colon with poses like knee to chest pose, elongate the colon with poses like lunge pose and twisting the colon with any yoga twist. All of these things together: physically, mentally, emotionally will support you in preventing constipation with yoga.
