These guys are hip and know their stuff
Getting quality feedback about how to play this wonderful music is hard to come by today, and these funny, capable jazz gurus pianists help fill the need. They teach you concepts like, you don’t learn jazz by reading books. Instead, you learn it by actively listening to it, attending concerts, learning the chords/scales, and transcribing your favorite recordings. These guys know not only how to play, but can discuss the challenges everyone faces in becoming better: how to practice effectively, what recordings are classics, where are the hidden jazz clubs, etc. They sometimes discuss ‘offbeat’ topics like “best dressed jazz musicians”, or why jazz musicians are ‘cool’, etc. which I love. They are playful and knowledgeable at the same time. A great combo.
