Motivated here by your excellent YT videos
Adam’s YT video on Charlie Parker’s Bebop Riffs was an excellent analysis of the riffs in Charlie’s toolbox that drew me to this podcast. Academiologists that beat up Adam up on his terminology and semantics missed the bigger point; Adam analyzed Charlie’s playing on that one song till he found a repeatable musical understanding of Charlie’s approach. It’s like arguing over a chord’s name, when what’s really important are the intervals between the notes that arrive at a specific sound, specific harmony. If your podcasts are like your YT videos, then you’ll get me musically fired up. Start me up like a race engine ready to run.

This has become a favorite podcast of mine. Peter & Adam are fun to listen to and have some great, practical jazz knowledge to drop on you. You don't need to be a jazz pianist or musician to come away with something; serious jazz fans will enjoy this too.Read full review »
