What I learned as I taught my children how to drive
Listen now
Description
"I'll never teach my children to drive." That’s what I always said. But somehow I did, and will be starting to teach our fourth child in a couple of months. 120 hours of supervised driving before they can do the test to get their license. 💯 +20 As I’m teaching them how to drive, they’re teaching me how to teach. 👨‍🏫 Lots of storytelling, that has nothing to do with driving. 👨🏼👧🚙 They learn a lot about their dad, the love and sacrifices their mother has done for them. They learn a lot about business. They learn a lot about habits that may have nothing to do with driving. They learn to drive in a way that will stay with them for life. And I learn to correct them in a way that builds them up. I can’t crush them. And I can’t rush them. They need to learn step by step, with gentleness, kindness and learning lots of processes and habits as they do. One day, they’re going to have to drive without me beside them. Drive cars…and drive their way in life. And if all goes well, they live happily ever after. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/impostor-syndrome-aus/message
