A mish-mash
Right away there is a bit of a disconnect with this show, because it is billed as a podcast about cults, but categorized in the comedy section. My guess is that this podcast is meant to be in the vein or My Favorite Murder, where the hosts are funny, but the subject matter serious. I have only listened to the first episode at this point, but where they seem to go wrong is with the delivery. I was looking for something relatively straight forward on the subject matter, but it was convoluted and somewhat incomprehensible. I'm not sure if this is because they were wary of being sued by Scientology is they said too much, but it came out as a mish-mash of celebrity gossip, anecdotes and random theory. I didn't find it very credible and ended up searching to see if Stuff You Should Know had an episode on Scientology so I could get a better understanding...they do. This podcast is at the top of the charts currently in its category, so I presume they ironed out some of the kinks in later episodes, but I found the first episode to be a bit disappointing. Not sure yet if I will give it another go.Read full review »

This is the craziest case of right place right time! Way to literally take the stage and use every second you had on that microphone at the MFM live show! #1 already?!? Great work!

Heard Jo on the My Favourite Murder podcast. So happy I gave this podcast a shot - the style actually really reminds me of the girls on My Favourite Murder - funny and great story telling ☺
