Description
We’re always trying to think of interesting discussion topics and so Phil was delighted to get an opportunity to discuss something that has been on his mind for years.  Can a mature mindset achieve the same results as pure experience? To unpack this, Phil was once again joined by 3 superb humans from within the IOH membership in Marco Di Simone AIH, Rachel Webster MIH and Chris Wayne-Wills FIH.  As always, our gusts gave us some brilliant reasons to say I’m in to the IOH including: - Getting some credentials early in careerTo take advantage of the many benefits that being a member bringsExchange of value and support through the membershipThe mentor me programmeNetworkingTo learnTo give backBeing part of a communityTo act as an ambassador for the instituteTo meet and discuss the future of the industry with peersHow to be a better person at work and personally Within the headline topic itself we got through a lot including: - Some situations can only be dealt with through experience but growth is only experienced when exposed to situations not dealt with before.Culture is key to ensure mature mindsets are given the opportunity to flourishManaging your reaction to being out of your comfort zone is the difference between success and failureSelf-awareness is so important, asking for help when you are out of your depth and being comfortable with accountabilityRespecting people is a critical element of having a mature mindset as is being able to adapt to changeA mature minded person will see change as an opportunityYou must "Fake it until you make it” quoted from Richard BransonA small amount of fear can be a healthy thing for your mindsetA strong mindset will help you prepare for all the experience you have yet to learnFailing is an essential part of developing a strong mindsetLeadership has to build a platform that’s comfortable with failureLeading by example is part of the process to ensure teams develop their confidence in their role and the confidence in the team, especially when they are lacking experience.Developing your own tools to ensure your mind stays strong is important A huge thank you to our guests for giving up their time and opinion.
